They say practice makes perfect. The way you have improved with the designs over the past couple of days, not only would I hire you as a cover photographer but designer to.

I dont know what to make of this one... maybe some industrial techno, or something with a goth slant a la Lacuna Coil?

I feel like these are getting easier, and overall better. I don't love them all, but I'm more comfortable with the quality. I haven't done much design in years (I used to design my own websites, business cards, etc.) so it's good to warm back up.

I have a feeling Nymph 2.0 is like a heavier, more industrial version of Garbage, or a more melodic version of Dissonance. heh

you would have a better idea of the genre, since you are doing the covers

I have to admit, for you it is kinda easier cause you have such a catalogue of images to pick and choose from. For me, I have to usually start from scratch, and sometimes I have no idea for the cover, and others I cant execute.

I tend to design around a basic idea-- but in the case of these, I let the photo guide me. (Since I don't have a specific request to work from, I'm making the covers that best suit some of my favorite photos.) So really, anyone's sense of the genre is as important as mine.

ah k, fair enough. I guess that is easy to do since as you said you have no specific requests. maybe an interesting idea would be to make some with a specific genre in mind, have people say what genre they think it is and see compares to your original idea.
