what I usually do (when I don't have anything else to do 
) is opening a random page of a deviant then go to his/hers favs & see if I like something, when I do I open the deviation then go to the authors page and do the same as before... can do it for hours... (checking the authors deviations at the same time)
regarding comments, I only make them when I really have something to say, anything that could be improved or something I really liked and want the artist to know it works well, stuff like that
